MudGate abilities

Abilities are usually tied to specific classes and can be used by both players and non-player characters (NPCs). To use most abilities, you must first learn them and may need to allocate points to them. Special ability scrolls, which have a limited number of uses, can also be found. All abilities require energy to use, even if they are activated using a scroll. They also have a preparation time and a cooldown period after successful use.

Energy Cost: The energy cost of an ability is the amount of energy required to use it. Your energy, represented by the energy globe, is a resource that replenishes over time and can be increased by increasing your vitality.

Cooldown Time: This is the amount of time that must pass before an ability can be used again after it has been used. The cooldown period is measured in seconds, and can range from a few seconds to several minutes depending on the ability.

Prepare Time: This is the amount of time for an ability required to set it up or charge it before it can be used. The prepare time can vary, with some abilities being available for use instantly and others requiring a longer preparation period.

Targeting refers to the type of targets that an ability can be used on. There are several different types of targeting, including:

  • Range: This type of ability can be used on targets at a distance, measured in blocks.
  • Reach: This type of ability can only be used on targets that are within reach of the user.
  • Self: This type of ability can only be used on the player themselves.
  • Nearby: This type of ability can be used on any targets within a certain distance of the user.
