MudGate as a graphical MUD

MudGate visual world, game log, and character interface

A MUD, or multi-user dungeon, is an online world traditionally played with text commands. MudGate combines that idea with a graphical fantasy world.

The game shows maps, characters, creatures, equipment, and combat. Visual controls and text commands work together.

Visual controls and text commands

Move through the world and select actions from the interface. The command channel lets you talk, emote, search, manage equipment, and interact with objects.

Descriptions may contain clues to special commands. System commands also handle actions such as taking, dropping, wearing, removing, wielding, and giving items.

Turns and the game log

Movement and combat happen in two-second turns. Actions use dice notation such as d20, and the game log reports the results. Line of sight and perception affect what your character notices.
